LONDON: everplay Group plc, a leading global independent games developer and publisher, reported strong trading results for the first half of 2025, driven by successful new releases and continued performance from its back catalogue.
The company highlighted the positive reception of its recently launched title, Date Everything!, which has delivered strong sales, high concurrent user numbers, and favorable review scores. Other new releases, Sworn and Nice Day for Fishing, also showed encouraging early performance.
As a result, the board now expects full-year results to come in slightly ahead of current market expectations. Consistent with prior years, adjusted EBITDA is expected to be weighted toward the second half of the year due to the timing of new game launches. Interim results are scheduled for release in early September.
In a strategic move to expand its intellectual property portfolio, Everplay announced the acquisition of all rights and assets for the Hammerwatch franchise, an action-adventure series developed by Swedish studio Crackshell. The acquisition aligns with Everplay’s strategy to grow its first-party IP and evergreen franchises. Crackshell co-founder Niklas Myrberg will join Everplay’s Team17 division to oversee the franchise’s future development.
Additionally, Everplay has acquired exclusive publishing rights for two previously released third-party games: Settlement Survival and Operation Tango. These additions are part of the company’s broader initiative to enhance its back catalogue and leverage its lifecycle management capabilities.
The total initial cash consideration for the acquisitions is under £8 million. The company emphasized that the transactions reflect its disciplined capital deployment strategy and commitment to long-term growth through assets with predictable returns.
