LONDON: SIG plc announced Tuesday the appointment of Pim Vervaat as its new Chief Executive Officer and Chair designate, effective Oct. 1, 2025. Vervaat will succeed Gavin Slark, who formally stepped down from the board and was placed on garden leave until the end of the year.
The leadership transition is part of SIG’s long-term succession planning. Vervaat is expected to assume the role of Non-Executive Chair approximately 18 months after taking over as CEO, coinciding with the planned departure of current Chair Andrew Allner. Allner, who joined the board in November 2017, will step down after completing a full term.
Vervaat, a Dutch national, brings extensive experience in leading large-scale European industrial companies. He most recently served as CEO of Constantia Flexibles, a €2 billion flexible packaging firm acquired by One Rock in 2024. Prior to that, he led RPC Group, a UK-listed plastic products company, as CEO from 2013 to 2019 and CFO from 2007 to 2013. He currently serves as Senior Independent Director at Luceco plc.
“The Board is delighted to announce that Pim has agreed to join SIG as its CEO and Non-Executive Chair designate,” said Allner. “He has significant experience of operating in decentralised European businesses and a strong track record of delivering shareholder value. The Board looks forward to working with Pim on SIG’s growth and development.”
In the interim period before Vervaat assumes his role, Group CFO Ian Ashton will oversee day-to-day operations. The company emphasized that its experienced leadership team remains committed to executing ongoing initiatives aimed at enhancing operational and financial performance.
