LONDON: Technologies New Energy plc (LSE: TNE), a developer of clean energy projects aimed at industrial decarbonization, has appointed Julio Perez as chief executive officer, effective June 27, 2025.
Perez brings over 15 years of global investment experience, with a focus on clean and renewable energy. He succeeds José Meneses, who will remain with the company as executive chairman and director.
The appointment follows a recommendation by TNE’s nomination committee and was approved by the board of directors.
Perez has held senior roles in investment banking and clean energy advisory, including at HSBC in London and most recently at Codex Capital Partners Limited. He has led projects totaling more than 900 megawatts of solar and 350 megawatts of wind capacity, advising corporations, public companies and investment funds on M&A activity, capital raising and power purchase agreements.
A founding director of TNE, Perez previously served on the company’s board from its inception in October 2021 through April 2025. During that period, he spearheaded its IPO as a Special Purpose Acquisition Company (SPAC) and led the acquisition of Technologies New Energy S.A., culminating in TNE’s readmission to the London Stock Exchange.
Since stepping down from the board, Perez has remained engaged with TNE as a management consultant. The nomination committee highlighted his deep understanding of corporate governance, alignment with company values, and continued strategic involvement as key strengths supporting his appointment.
TNE said the leadership transition comes at a pivotal moment as the company advances its mission to drive decarbonization through scalable, clean energy infrastructure.
