LONDON: Integrated Diagnostics Holdings (IDH), a leading provider of diagnostic services in the Middle East and Africa, announced Thursday that its Egyptian subsidiary, Al Borg Scan, has acquired CAIRO RAY for Radiotherapy in a strategic EGP 400 million deal.
The acquisition of the East Cairo-based facility marks a key step in IDH’s expansion into radiology and radiotherapy, complementing its established pathology business. The 2,000-square-meter center, located in New Cairo’s medical hub, offers advanced radiology and radiotherapy services and includes real estate, equipment, staff and commercial agreements.
With this addition, Al Borg Scan now operates eight branches across Greater Cairo, targeting high-demand, underserved areas. The move aligns with Egypt’s growing need for cancer care, driven by an aging population and rising disease prevalence.
“This investment reinforces our commitment to building a world-class radiology network in Egypt,” said IDH CEO Dr. Hend El Sherbini. “By expanding our services, we aim to bridge gaps in specialized care while leveraging advanced technology closer to patients.”
Since launching Al Borg Scan in 2018, IDH has invested over EGP 600 million in the venture, which reported a 45% revenue increase to EGP 224 million in 2024. The company expects the new facility to contribute to earnings by 2026.
IDH operates in Egypt, Jordan, Nigeria, Saudi Arabia and Sudan.
