LOS ANGELES: Diskover, a leader in helping enterprises manage unstructured data at exabyte scale, announced Tuesday a series of major milestones: closing a $7.5 million seed funding round, forming partnerships with Snowflake and NetApp — both of which are now investors — and acquiring data intelligence platform CloudSoda.
The moves mark a significant expansion for Diskover, which serves more than 130 enterprise customers across industries including media, life sciences, semiconductor design, energy and manufacturing. The company also has an existing commercial relationship with Dell.
Diskover’s technology helps organizations identify and organize high-quality data from distributed repositories, both on-premises and in the cloud, while maintaining security and compliance. This capability is critical for building efficient AI pipelines and large language models.
“This is a huge moment for us and our customers,” said Will Hall, CEO of Diskover. “With this funding and our new partnerships, we’re empowering organizations to streamline their data pipelines, automate data ingestion and optimize costs. As unstructured data grows and AI demands better inputs, Diskover is the starting point for enterprise AI.”
Key Announcements
1. $7.5M Seed Funding
The round was led by Park Partners, The Hive, Snowflake Ventures and NetApp. The funding will support engineering expansion and go-to-market partnerships.
“Diskover unlocks AI’s potential by connecting unstructured data to cloud warehouses,” said Kamesh Raghavendra, General Partner at The Hive.
2. Acquisition of CloudSoda
The deal enhances Diskover’s platform with improved usability and AI-driven data orchestration. Terms were not disclosed.
“We had scale; they had simplicity. Together, we offer the most intuitive unstructured data platform,” Hall said.
3. Snowflake and NetApp Partnerships
- Snowflake: Customers can now access Diskover via Snowflake Marketplace. The companies are also integrating Diskover’s on-prem capabilities with Snowflake’s Openflow service.
- NetApp: Diskover will be part of NetApp’s data pipeline, helping customers classify and activate unstructured data.
“This collaboration accelerates AI readiness and cyber resiliency,” said Gagan Gulati, SVP of Data Services at NetApp.
Solving the Unstructured Data Challenge
Unstructured data — including documents, videos and audio files — makes up over 80% of enterprise data but has traditionally been difficult to manage. Diskover scans and indexes billions of files, creating a searchable, governed inventory for AI and business use.
“We’ve turned a data swamp into a structured, actionable resource,” Hall said.
Industry analysts praised the developments.
“AI needs relevant data to drive competitive advantage,” said Ben Woo of Neuralytix. “Diskover helps enterprises identify high-value data and connect it to critical applications.”
Josh Mason, CTO of RecordPoint, added: “We’re excited to see how Diskover accelerates its strategy with these new resources.”
