SINGAPORE: H2G Green Limited (SGX:5AI) has outlined a new strategy to expand Singapore’s role as a liquefied natural gas (LNG) hub and accelerate the country’s transition toward net-zero emissions.
Following a leadership change, newly appointed CEO Pek Hak Bin said the homegrown energy company is positioned to help meet rising demand for clean energy in Singapore and across the region. H2G focuses on biomass-to-hydrogen technology and LNG distribution through its subsidiaries, GasHubUnited Utility and Green Energy Investment Holding.
“International oil and gas majors have undertaken much of Singapore’s LNG business, but we also have enormous untapped potential with impactful homegrown companies like H2G,” Pek said.
Pek, a former BP Singapore chairman, said H2G will prioritize three key areas: advancing clean energy innovation, expanding into Southeast Asian markets such as the Philippines and Vietnam, and forging partnerships with regional institutions and businesses.
H2G’s expertise in LNG and hydrogen safety is a key differentiator. Its LNG subsidiary, GasHub, specializes in last-mile distribution to commercial and industrial sites, while its hydrogen arm, GEIH, converts non-food biomass waste into green hydrogen and sustainable byproducts.
