
CANBERRA: Aurora Labs Limited (ASX: A3D), an Australian industrial 3D printing company, announced Wednesday it has entered a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with U.S.-based Mayman Aerospace to explore collaborative opportunities in advanced propulsion systems for vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) aircraft.
The two-year agreement focuses on developing 3D-printed micro gas turbines for integration into Mayman Aerospace’s AI-powered VTOL platforms, including its RAZOR™ aircraft. The partnership marks Aurora Labs’ first foray into the U.S. aerospace and defense market, leveraging its additive manufacturing expertise to accelerate propulsion system innovation.
Rebekah Letheby, CEO of Aurora Labs, said the MoU aligns with the company’s strategy to expand into the U.S., a key hub for aerospace technology. “This collaboration validates our capabilities in a world-leading market and reinforces our role in next-generation propulsion,” Letheby said.
David Mayman, founder and CEO of Mayman Aerospace, highlighted the potential for rapid prototyping and performance enhancements. “Aurora Labs’ expertise in 3D metal printing complements our vision for scalable VTOL systems,” he said.
The partnership aims to enhance Aurora Labs’ visibility in North America while advancing commercialization of 3D-printed propulsion technology. Mayman Aerospace, known for its JetPack and RAZOR platforms, specializes in aerial mobility solutions for defense and commercial use.
