ZURICH: Aurrigo International plc (AIM: AURR) has entered a three-year strategic partnership with Swissport International AG to deploy autonomous transport technology at Zurich Airport, marking a step toward automation in airport ground services.
Under the agreement, Aurrigo and Swissport will conduct a six-month trial that includes an Auto-Sim® contract to model Zurich Airport and a pilot deployment of the Auto-Dolly Tug®. Simulation work will begin soon, with equipment rollout expected in the second half of 2025.
Swissport, which operates at more than 270 airports worldwide, will evaluate further sites for Aurrigo’s autonomous solutions following initial trials at Zurich. A dedicated Swissport team will oversee testing and implementation, aiming to enhance efficiency, safety, and sustainability.
“This partnership marks a key milestone in Swissport’s innovation journey,” said Swissport CEO Warwick Brady. “By integrating autonomous technologies into our operations, we are improving safety, boosting efficiency, and advancing sustainability ambitions across our global network.”
Aurrigo CEO David Keene called Swissport’s involvement a significant endorsement of the company’s autonomous technology. “To call such a major industry player a partner speaks to the quality of our software and hardware,” Keene said. “With market-leading products and increasing proof points, we look ahead with confidence.”
The partnership follows Aurrigo’s existing agreements with Changi Airport Singapore and Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, reinforcing the company’s position in autonomous airport logistics.
