
PERTH: Dalaroo Metals Ltd. (ASX: DAL) has named Chris Connell as its new chief executive officer, effective May 9, the company announced Monday.
Connell, a veteran geologist with nearly 30 years of experience in exploration, mining, finance, and capital markets, previously served as technical director and founder of Iris Metals Ltd. (ASX: IR1). He played a key role in identifying and developing lithium projects in the United States, including the discovery of the Beecher lithium deposits. Under his leadership, Iris Metals grew from an initial market capitalization of approximately A$17 million to around A$250 million.
Connell’s resume also includes leading exploration efforts in Ecuador for SolGold Plc, where he oversaw the discovery of the 500-million-ton Porvenir copper-gold deposit. He has held leadership roles in various mining ventures across Africa, the Americas, Papua New Guinea, and Australia.

Connell said he was eager to advance the company’s existing assets and pursue new opportunities. “I look forward to communicating our new vision and strategy to shareholders along this exciting path,” he said.
Connell’s compensation package includes a fixed annual salary of A$275,000 plus incentives tied to the company’s performance. His appointment has no fixed term, and he will be eligible for performance rights based on tenure and stock value benchmarks.
