TIRANA: Zenova Group PLC (AIM: ZED), a company specializing in fire suppression and temperature management solutions, has announced a joint venture with its local sub-distributor, AED Sh.p.K, to establish a new manufacturing facility in Albania.
The move comes in response to growing demand for Zenova’s products in Albania and neighboring markets, following strong initial sales by AED. The facility, located just outside Tirana, is expected to be fully operational by mid-May, positioning the company to streamline supply chains and meet regional demand more efficiently.
According to Zenova, the joint venture is projected to generate more than €2 million in revenue within its first 12 months, supported by an expanding pipeline of opportunities in sectors such as construction, infrastructure, and government. AED has made a significant financial commitment to the project and is actively driving business development to support long-term growth.
The facility has been secured and upgraded by AED to include a two-story laboratory and office space. Production equipment from the United Kingdom has arrived and is currently being offloaded, with installation and commissioning overseen by a Zenova-appointed consultant. The consultant will also train local staff to ensure operations run smoothly from the outset.
Zenova CEO Thomas Melchior called the venture a “major step forward” in the company’s European expansion strategy. “AED has already demonstrated the market’s appetite for our solutions, and with this new facility, we can respond to that demand faster and more efficiently,” he said. “Together, we are well positioned to unlock the full commercial potential of the region.”
With local production capabilities in place, Zenova aims to eliminate delays and costs associated with cross-border trade, strengthening its foothold in the market.
