OSLO: LINK has acquired UK-based FireText Communications in a move that significantly strengthens its foothold in the British market, particularly within the public sector. The deal adds a scalable and robust SSU platform to LINK’s portfolio.
Founded in 2007 and headquartered in Falmouth, UK, FireText Communications is a privately held A2P SSU company that offers a proprietary SMS marketing platform. The firm serves approximately 2,700 customers and has an established presence in the UK public sector, working with the National Health Service (NHS) and the UK Government.
“As we continue to grow our footprint in the UK, this acquisition not only brings a high-performing, scalable SSU platform into our offering, but also reinforces our commitment to the UK public sector,” said Thomas Berge, CEO of LINK.
FireText’s founders also expressed optimism about the acquisition, calling it a “fantastic opportunity” for the company and its clients. “With LINK Mobility’s broad product offering and market expertise, we are confident our customers will benefit from this partnership. It marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for FireText,” they said.
The transaction values FireText at an enterprise value of £9.7 million, reflecting an EV/LTM Dec-24 cash EBITDA multiple of 6.5x. The acquisition includes an earn-out of £2.3 million at a similar valuation. The purchase price will be settled through a combination of £2 million in LINK shares, a seller credit equal to 10% of the enterprise value, and the remaining amount in cash.
