Somero Enterprises appoints Tim Averkamp as CEO

LONDON: Somero Enterprises has announced the appointment of Tim Averkamp as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective April 1, 2025. The decision follows a comprehensive selection process to identify the ideal candidate for the role.

Averkamp brings three decades of international experience in industrial manufacturing, construction machinery, and equipment innovation. He most recently served as Chief Operating Officer at Stoughton Trailers, LLC, where he led strategic initiatives for the company’s Transport Solutions Business.

His previous leadership roles include Group President at Astec Industries, Inc. (NASDAQ: ASTE), overseeing global operations in road building, forestry, and aggregate processing equipment.

Additionally, Averkamp spent 22 years at Deere & Company (NYSE: DE), holding various positions in the Construction and Forestry Equipment Division, including Director of Business Partner Integration and President of Transaxle Manufacturing of America, a joint venture between Deere and Yanmar/Kanzaki.

Averkamp holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville and an MBA from the University of Dubuque, Iowa.

Larry Horsch, chairman of Somero, expressed confidence in Averkamp’s leadership. “Tim brings a wealth of relevant construction machinery and public markets experience,” Horsch said. “His exceptional track record makes him the ideal candidate to lead the company through its next phase of growth.”
