RIYADH: Teledyne FLIR Defense has secured a $7.8 million contract with Middle East Task Company (METCO) to supply its next-generation Lightweight Vehicle Surveillance System (LVSS) to a military entity in Saudi Arabia.

The deal includes mission support equipment, training, and aligns with an approved localization plan involving the General Authority for Military Industries (GAMI).

The LVSS, mounted on a light pickup truck, features advanced mobile surveillance technology, including the TacFLIR 380HD thermal imaging system and Ranger R20SS radar capable of tracking up to 500 objects at over 10 miles. Designed for flexibility and mobility, the system can be deployed by a single operator in under 30 seconds. Deliveries are expected by late 2025.
