Airbus Ventures invests in Featherless.ai

Airbus Ventures has announced its investment in Featherless.ai, a leader in serverless AI inference platforms.
The innovative technology developed by Featherless.ai optimizes GPU utilization, reduces costly downtime, and significantly lowers operational expenses, enabling AI inference at reduced costs.
“AI has the power to transform industries and empower individuals around the globe,” said Eugene Cheah, founder and CEO of Featherless.ai.
“However, accessing and utilizing diverse models can be cost-prohibitive and logistically challenging, especially for users in emerging markets. Featherless.ai is changing the game with an affordable, scalable solution for deploying open-source AI models.”
Featherless.ai boasts the world’s largest collection of open-source AI models, with over 4,000 models and new additions weekly. The company offers a flat-capacity pricing model, ensuring predictable costs while allowing businesses to scale AI usage dynamically. This approach reduces financial risks, enabling businesses to focus on experiments and model development. The recent funding will support Featherless.ai’s expansion into major AI modalities, such as embeddings, vision, and speech.
Airbus Ventures Principal Yuichiro Hikosaka highlighted the platform’s potential for global markets. “Most foundational AI models face inefficiencies and struggle across multiple languages, creating barriers in global markets,” Hikosaka explained. “Featherless.ai addresses these challenges, offering seamless and affordable access to the latest models, empowering users to innovate.”
Beyond providing API-driven serverless inference, Featherless.ai is advancing research into next-generation AI architectures. The company seeks to reduce reliance on costly GPUs and closed-source models, making AI more accessible worldwide. It is actively contributing to the RWKV foundation model project, the first AI model under the Linux Foundation, which has been deployed across billions of devices.
With Featherless.ai’s solutions, enterprises and individuals can access scalable, secure, and user-friendly tools to accelerate their AI initiatives without the complexities of infrastructure management.
Airbus Ventures continues its mission of supporting deeptech entrepreneurs who design transformative engineering solutions that unlock new economic opportunities.
