CyberArk (NASDAQ: CYBR), the global leader in identity security, announced today it has acquired Zilla Security for an enterprise value of $165 million in cash, with an additional $10 million earn-out contingent on milestone achievements.
Zilla Security is renowned for its innovative, AI-powered Identity Governance and Administration (IGA) solutions.
Zilla’s advanced IGA capabilities will enhance CyberArk’s Identity Security Platform by offering scalable automation, which accelerates identity compliance and provisioning across digital environments.
This move aims to maximize security and operational efficiency, advancing CyberArk’s strategy to provide a comprehensive identity security platform for both human and machine identities.
“Modern IGA capabilities are essential for safeguarding digital assets and maintaining business agility amidst the growing complexity of identity landscapes,” said Matt Cohen, CEO of CyberArk.
“With Zilla’s expertise and technology, we will revolutionize identity governance, delivering scalable automation that ensures compliance and enhances security for enterprises.”
The need for scalable solutions that integrate seamlessly across hybrid environments is critical in the era of digital transformation. Legacy IGA systems, primarily designed for on-premises environments, often struggle with manual processes and slow deployments.
In contrast, Zilla’s modern IGA SaaS platform, built specifically for cloud environments, leverages AI to streamline identity compliance and provisioning. This results in faster deployments, reduced effort for access reviews, and fewer service tickets.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Zilla’s team to CyberArk,” added Cohen. “Their unparalleled expertise in IGA will be crucial in shaping the future of identity security.”
Deepak Taneja, CEO and Co-Founder of Zilla Security, emphasized the transformative nature of their technology: “Traditional IGA solutions are outdated. By leveraging AI, Zilla has automated and simplified IGA processes, making them faster and more cost-effective. Joining forces with CyberArk allows us to extend our breakthrough technology to a global customer base.”
CyberArk plans to further expand its AI-powered Identity Security Platform, which includes identity discovery, risk mapping, and privilege controls across entitlement, session, credential, and authentication management. The platform also automates lifecycle management, policy, governance, and compliance.
Andy Walker, VP and General Manager of Technology Deployment Services at Optiv, noted, “A unified approach to identity security that integrates modern IGA capabilities will significantly benefit CyberArk’s customers, addressing a critical market gap.”
