Vertical Aerospace announces leadership reshuffle

Vertical Aerospace Ltd., a leader in zero-emission aviation, has announced a strategic leadership reshuffle as it approaches the certification and commercialization of its VX4 aircraft. Stuart Simpson, previously the CFO and a veteran executive, steps up as CEO, taking the helm to steer the company through this critical phase. Simpson’s extensive background in technology, automotive, and logistics, including his tenure at Avast and Royal Mail Group, positions him well for the challenges ahead.

Stephen Fitzpatrick, the company’s founder and outgoing CEO, reinforces his commitment by injecting additional capital and transitioning to a Board member role, where he will concentrate on business strategy and vision realization.

The company’s Board is further bolstered by the addition of Ben Story, whose three decades of experience in industrial technology and global finance are expected to be instrumental in Vertical’s journey to market.

As the VX4 aircraft’s final assembly nears completion, Simpson and his team are poised to embark on a rigorous test flight program, marking a significant step towards introducing electric aviation to the global market. The company’s progress under Simpson’s leadership is eagerly anticipated as it prepares for public demonstrations at the upcoming Farnborough International Airshow.
