DUBAI: EDGE, a premier advanced technology and defense group, has announced the acquisition of a 51% stake in CONDOR Non-Lethal Technologies, a Brazilian leader in non-lethal solutions.
This strategic purchase positions EDGE at the forefront of the global non-lethal technologies (NLT) sector, enhancing its capabilities and setting the stage for international expansion, particularly into the U.S. market.
CONDOR, recognized as one of the top five NLT industry leaders worldwide, brings to the table an extensive portfolio of over 160 products, making it the largest of its kind globally. The company’s influence spans across 85 countries, specializing in a range of products from tear gas to tactical operation kits and advanced surveillance equipment.
The acquisition was formalized in Sao Paulo, with senior leaders from both companies in attendance. Hamad Al Marar, Managing Director & CEO of EDGE, emphasized the significance of this development, stating, “Joining forces with CONDOR marks a pivotal step in EDGE’s journey towards sustainable growth and innovation. This partnership not only diversifies our offerings but also showcases the success of our strategic international collaborations.”
The integration of CONDOR’s expertise is expected to bolster EDGE’s existing capabilities, providing a comprehensive suite of NLT solutions aimed at protecting life and human rights across various scenarios. The move comes at a time when the global NLT market, valued at approximately $6 billion last year, is projected to experience substantial growth by the decade’s end.
Carlos Erane de Aguiar, CEO and founder of CONDOR, expressed confidence in the partnership, highlighting the shared commitment to excellence and innovation. “Our alliance with EDGE reaffirms our dedication to creating a safer future and supports economic growth in both the State of Rio de Janeiro and the UAE,” he said.
