Dubai unveils ambitious AI blueprint to transform into a global tech hub

AI Blueprint, Dubai

Dubai has announced the launch of its comprehensive AI blueprint, a strategic annual plan aimed at leveraging AI to enhance global quality of life. The ambitious plan kicks off with the designation of a dedicated AI CEO for each government entity.

Following this, Dubai will establish an Artificial Intelligence (AI) and WEB3 Incubator, poised to become the world’s largest hub for AI and tech companies. This incubator is expected to draw a diverse group of innovators, startups, and AI experts, fostering the growth of their ideas into thriving businesses and practical applications.

A key educational component of the blueprint is the introduction of ‘AI Week’ in schools and colleges, designed to seamlessly integrate AI into the curriculum. This initiative will equip students with future-ready skills, such as coding, and acquaint them with cutting-edge tools and industry best practices.

The blueprint also heralds the launch of the Dubai Commercial License for Artificial Intelligence. This move aims to bolster the AI sector by attracting niche companies and professionals to Dubai, thereby stimulating investments and cementing the city’s status as a leading destination for tech and innovation enterprises. Additionally, the allocation of land for data centers will contribute significantly to the development of a robust infrastructure to support Dubai’s digital transformation.

His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, reflected on the city’s digital journey: “Since initiating Dubai’s digital transformation in 1999, we’ve reached significant milestones, culminating in the recent Dubai Digital Strategy. Our achievements have positioned us as the go-to hub for billion-dollar tech and AI corporations in the region.”

He further noted the rapid evolution of AI, highlighting the opportunities it presents for proactive nations and the challenges for those lagging behind. “The need for swift, adaptable action plans is imperative to navigate the fast-paced changes in technology and AI,” he stated.

The annual AI plan is a cornerstone of Dubai’s vision to become the premier city for tech utilization globally and the quickest to embrace advanced applications.
