PARIS: Perenco, an independent hydrocarbon producer, has become a Silver Sponsor for the Invest in African Energy (IAE) forum, underscoring its dedication to Africa’s oil and gas potential.
The company, with a presence in multiple African nations, is at the forefront of the continent’s energy development, notably in Gabon with its $1-billion Cap Lopez LNG terminal and the newly launched $50-million Batanga LPG plant.
The IAE 2024 forum, organized by Energy Capital & Power and scheduled for May 14-15 in Paris, aims to connect European investors with African energy markets. Perenco’s CEO, Armel Simondin, is set to discuss the company’s strategy and the promising future of Africa’s deepwater gas and LNG sectors at the event.
Perenco’s recent ventures include starting production at the Hylia South West field offshore Gabon and acquiring Eni’s assets in the Republic of Congo. These moves, along with ongoing projects in Cameroon and Gabon, highlight Perenco’s commitment to enhancing Africa’s energy independence and economic growth.
