LONDON: IQE plc, a leader in compound semiconductor wafer products, has announced an expanded partnership with Advanced Wireless Semiconductor Company (AWSC) through a multi-year supply agreement.
This strategic move will see IQE providing Gallium Arsenide (GaAs) wafers to AWSC for the production of power amplifiers for smartphones, targeting Tier One OEMs in China’s Android market.
The collaboration, which builds on a two-decade relationship, is expected to bolster the market’s growth after a period of inventory accumulation. IQE’s CEO, Americo Lemos, expressed enthusiasm about entering the Android ecosystem and continuing the successful partnership.
Similarly, AWSC’s President, Eric Huang, praised IQE’s product quality and expertise, underscoring the partnership’s importance in meeting customer demands with high standards. The agreement aligns with IQE’s market strategy and forecasts for the upcoming year.
