Veracode has acquired Longbow Security, a pioneer in security risk management. This acquisition signifies Veracode’s intensified focus on reducing application risk across expanding digital landscapes.
“Security teams are overwhelmed by alerts that are often not sufficiently detailed about the level of business risk, the concrete possibility that a flaw will be exploited, and specific code-level insights to keep up with remediation requirements. As a result, the risk continues to increase,” says Brian Roche, Chief Product Officer at Veracode.
“By combining Veracode and Longbow Security, teams can gain a comprehensive view of risk, automate priority setting, and with Veracode Fix, even automate the correction of security code flaws.”
The merger introduces advanced capabilities for security teams, enabling swift identification and assessment of threats to cloud and application assets. Longbow’s integration promises a streamlined risk management process, offering a unified risk perspective and simplifying remediation efforts.
As cloud infrastructure becomes more prevalent and developers shoulder more security responsibilities, the need for comprehensive risk understanding and continuous security feedback is paramount. Veracode and Longbow’s combined efforts aim to alleviate the burden of “security debt” faced by 71% of organizations, characterized by lingering application flaws.
Veracode’s customers stand to gain from Longbow’s offerings, which include:
- Unified Risk Visibility: Centralized insights into application, code, and cloud risks.
- Orchestrated Remediation: AI-driven capabilities from Veracode for prioritized fixing.
- Actionable Insights: Guidance for root cause analysis and optimal repair strategies.
- Continuous Monitoring: Real-time vulnerability detection in applications and operational environments.
This collaboration is set to transform cloud application security, streamlining operations for teams grappling with complex security challenges.
“This is a perfect match for Longbow,” adds Dayne Myers, co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Longbow. “After careful consideration, we believe that our technology and our team are perfectly aligned with Veracode’s vision and that this is the best choice for the future of the company.”
Derek Maki, co-founder and Chief Product Officer of Longbow, explains: “We founded Longbow with the mission to simplify an increasingly complex application security risk management process and help companies reduce risk on a scale. Together with Veracode, our solutions offer unparalleled visibility, automation, and remediation capabilities. We look forward to taking cloud-native application security to the next level.”
“We are excited to welcome Longbow into Veracode and to expand the capabilities of our platform with application security management that fully meets the needs of modern companies,” said Sam King, Chief Executive Officer of Veracode.
“The integration of our solutions provides companies with a holistic application risk management platform that spans from code to cloud. Veracode, together with Longbow, enables customers to more efficiently protect their increasingly complex application landscape.”
