Summit, a leading provider of virtual servers and cloud-based application hosting, has announced the acquisition of Deft, a provider of data center and managed cloud services. The deal combines two innovative and fast-growing companies that offer colocation, cloud, and network services to a diverse range of customers.
The acquisition will allow the combined business to better serve the evolving needs of customers as their IT infrastructure and operational support requirements change. Summit and Deft share a vision for the future of IT services, where innovation, security, and customer-centric solutions are paramount.
Deft’s co-founders and principals will join the Summit leadership team and retain a significant stake in the business. They will also play a key role in ensuring a smooth transition and consistent experience for Deft’s clients as they join Summit.
The acquisition of Deft is the third one for Summit in the past 18 months, backed by Silver Oak Service Partners, LLC. Summit previously acquired Handy Networks and Tech Commandos, which expanded its service offerings in server hosting, application hosting, colocation, HIPAA compliance hosting, and backup and disaster recovery.
Silver Oak’s partner Wade Glisson said that the combination of Summit and Deft will create a differentiated platform that leverages best practices from each and is well-positioned for accelerated growth.
