Volvo Group Venture Capital AB has joined Zacua Ventures Builders Fund I, L.P., a global venture capital fund that supports early-stage technology start-ups in the construction industry. The fund focuses on emerging technologies that can reduce carbon emissions and improve efficiency in the sector.
Zacua Ventures was founded in 2022 and operates in North America, Latin America, Europe, and Asia. The fund invests in companies that align with one or more of its three main themes: productivity, sustainability, and urbanization. The fund also connects its portfolio companies with its network of 19 corporate partners, including Volvo Group, that have expertise and interest in the construction industry.
David Hanngren, Investment Director at Volvo Group Venture Capital, said that Zacua Ventures provides them with access to leading start-ups and innovative solutions in the construction industry. Carolina Diez Ferrer, Head of Future Solutions at Volvo CE, said that Volvo CE aims to lead the transformation of the industry towards more sustainable site solutions and that Zacua Ventures helps them cover a broader technology portfolio and create potential partnerships.
Juan Nieto, Founding Partner at Zacua Ventures, said that they are excited to have Volvo Group as a partner and that they believe that their fund can act as a bridge between start-ups and corporate investors, creating new opportunities for collaboration and growth.
