NTWRK, the live-video shopping platform and marketplace for sneakers, streetwear, and collectibles, has announced its acquisition of Complex, the publisher of culture, trends, and style. The deal will create a new company that will combine e-commerce, content, and music to cater to the superfans of convergence culture.
The new company will be led by Aaron Levant, the co-founder and CEO of NTWRK, who has previously co-created ComplexCon, a festival of culture and innovation, with Marc Eckō, the founder of Complex. Levant said that the acquisition will enable them to create the definitive global platform of convergence culture.
NTWRK has partnered with some of the world’s leading cultural and entertainment figures, such as Post Malone, Lewis Hamilton, BLACKPINK, and Takashi Murakami, to offer exclusive products and experiences to its users. The company has also collaborated with Interscope Geffen A&M (IGA) and Capitol Music Group, the first Universal Music Group labels to join the new venture, to deliver exclusive collaborations and cultural moments to music fans.
Jimmy Iovine, the founder of Interscope Records and Beats by Dre, said that the acquisition will accelerate the growth of NTWRK and transform the next generation of consumer technology. He said that the new company will leverage the power and reach of Complex and the NTWRK engine to serve creators across music, fashion, and art.
