Edith Avilés joins HSBC’s US Boards of Directors

HSBC Bank USA announced today the recent appointment of Edith Avilés to the HSBC North America Holdings Inc. (HNAH) and HSBC Bank USA, N.A. (HBUS) Boards of Directors, effective January 1.

Avilés is a seasoned investment banker who has worked across US, European and Latin American markets for 30 years. She retired from Natixis S.A. in 2022, where she held various senior positions, including Vice Chairman and Executive Committee Member for the Americas. Before Natixis, she led several divisions at BNP Paribas, such as Corporate and Institutional Banking for Latin America and Leveraged Finance. She started her career at JP Morgan Chase.

Avilés also serves as an independent director of The Scotts Miracle-Gro Company since January 2023. She holds degrees from Bryn Mawr College, Stanford University and The Wharton School of Business.

Jamie Forese, Non-Executive Chairman of the Board, HNAH, and Director of HSBC Holdings plc, praised Avilés for her extensive international experience and strong financial performance. He said she will add tremendous value to HSBC as it grows its business in the US and globally.

With the appointment of Avilés, HSBC’s independent board representation in the US now stands at 60% women and 50% ethnically diverse individuals.
