SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA: The Star Entertainment Group Limited has announced the appointment of Janelle Campbell as the new Chief Executive Officer of The Star Sydney, subject to regulatory approvals.
Ms Campbell is a veteran casino executive with over 20 years of experience in the industry, including senior roles at Conrad Treasury, Conrad Jupiters, Treasury Casinos and Melco Resorts & Entertainment.
She will join the leadership team of The Star, which operates tourism and entertainment destinations in Sydney, Gold Coast and Brisbane.
The Group CEO and Managing Director, Robbie Cooke, welcomed Ms Campbell to the team and praised her leadership skills, strategic vision and operational expertise.
He said he looked forward to working with her on the transformation program at The Star Sydney, which aims to restore the suitability of the casino and enhance its reputation and performance.
Ms Campbell expressed her excitement to join The Star at a critical time in its history and to shape the future of the iconic Sydney venue.
She said she was clear on the strategic priorities, including the urgent focus on remediation actions, trust and confidence building, and culture development.
She said she wanted to deliver world-class experiences and sustainable long-term growth for The Star Sydney.
Ms Campbell will start in her new role on 25 February 2024.
