SYDNEY: thl, a leading RV rental and sales company, has announced its acquisition of Camperagent RV Centre, a family-owned business that sells and services new and used motorhomes, campervans and caravans in Adelaide, South Australia.
The deal, worth about A$11.9 million, is part of thl’s strategy to expand its Build – Rent – Sell RV model and increase its market share in Australia. The company expects to benefit from faster fleet turnover, lower fleet age and higher production volumes.
thl’s CEO, Grant Webster, said the acquisition would strengthen the company’s presence in South Australia, where it had been historically underrepresented. He praised Camperagent’s strong customer reputation and said the purchase would create property synergies by consolidating thl’s existing rental depot and Apollo RV dealership onto Camperagent’s large site in North Adelaide.
The transaction is expected to be completed by the end of January 2024 and to meet thl’s 15% return on funds employed target in the first year.
