BRISBANE: The Star Entertainment Group has appointed Daniel Finch as the new CEO of its Brisbane operations, subject to regulatory approvals.
Daniel Finch, a former managing director of Expedia Australia, has over 20 years of experience in the travel and hospitality industry, working with major hotel groups in Australia, New Zealand, UK and Asia.
Finch will report to Robbie Cooke, the group CEO and managing director, who praised Finch’s leadership skills, team-building abilities and hotel-launching expertise. Cooke said Finch’s appointment was part of the group’s restructure, which will have a CEO for each of its venues in Sydney, the Gold Coast and Brisbane.
Finch expressed his excitement to join The Star at a crucial time, as the group prepares to open The Star Brisbane and the Queen’s Wharf Brisbane precinct in 2024. He said he aims to drive domestic and international tourism, deliver world-class experiences, and build trust and reputation with the local community.
Finch is expected to start his role in mid-February 2024.
