Cool Effect, a Bay Area-based nonprofit that supports carbon projects around the world, has announced the promotion of Jodi Manning to Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective immediately. Manning, who joined the organization in 2015, has played a key role in driving its growth, development and impact.
Manning has held various positions at Cool Effect, managing different aspects of its business, such as strategy, sales, partnerships, marketing, and carbon credit inventory. She has also helped to launch the nonprofit at COP21 in Paris and to establish its reputation for quality and transparency in the Voluntary Carbon Market.
Dee Lawrence, Cool Effect Co-founder and Director of Carbon Projects, praised Manning’s leadership and vision, and expressed confidence that she will lead the nonprofit to new heights of success and impact. Manning said she was honored and humbled by the appointment, and reaffirmed her commitment to Cool Effect’s mission of supporting high-quality carbon projects that benefit the planet and the people, especially in the Global South. She also said she will continue to uphold the principles of integrity, transparency and innovation that Cool Effect has championed since its inception.
