LDC enters talks to acquire Groupe Routhiau

PARIS, FRANCE: LDC (Lambert Dodard Chancereul), a leading European poultry and ready meal company, has entered into exclusive talks to buy Groupe Routhiau, a family-owned business with a turnover of €72 million and 360 employees. The deal is expected to boost LDC’s product portfolio, logistics and purchasing efficiency, and cultural fit.

Groupe Routhiau, founded in 1975, offers a variety of products, such as beef carpaccio, poultry cuts, desserts, and Asian dishes, under its brands Jean Routhiau, Tendance Créative and Les Trois d’Asie. It sells its products in France and abroad through supermarkets, frozen food specialists and food service providers. It operates three plants in western France, near one of LDC’s partners, Arrivé (Maître Coq).

The acquisition is subject to the approval of the competition authority and will include the takeover of all staff. LDC, which has 102 sites and 23,400 employees, generated €5.8 billion in revenue in 2022-2023. It is listed on the stock exchange and has a mission to “Promote food sovereignty for the benefit of people and the environment”.
