RMA acquires Rone Engineering, expands presence in Texas

RMA Companies, a national provider of geotechnical engineering, environmental consulting, and construction materials testing services, announced today that it has acquired Rone Engineering, a leading firm based in Dallas, Texas.

Rone Engineering has over 50 years of experience in delivering quality and practical solutions for public and private clients in various sectors, including transportation, public buildings, industrial, commercial, and residential projects.

Rone Engineering has five offices and state-of-the-art laboratories in Texas and Kansas City, and will serve as RMA’s primary presence in the South-Central region. Richard Leigh, the leader of Rone Engineering, will join RMA as Texas Divisional President.

The acquisition is RMA’s eleventh and seventh in 2023, as it continues to grow its national platform and support the development of critical infrastructure.

RMA’s CEO, Ed Lyon, said that the partnership with Rone Engineering will create exciting opportunities for both their clients and their employees, especially in the Texas Triangle, which is expected to receive over $17 billion in federal funding over the next five years. Richard Leigh said that his team is thrilled to join the RMA family of companies and that the partnership will accelerate their growth and expand their service capabilities in the South-Central region.

Citizens M&A Advisory acted as the exclusive financial advisor to Rone Engineering in the transaction.
