Hunter Truck, a family-owned business that operates 19 commercial truck dealerships in four states, has been acquired by Fremont Private Holdings (FPH) and its current CEO, Jeff Hunter. The deal was announced on Tuesday, December 12, 2023.
The company, which was founded in 1938 by Homer Hunter, is one of the largest heavy truck dealership groups in the country and a franchise partner of Peterbilt. Jeff Hunter, who will continue to lead the company, said he was fortunate to have found FPH as a partner that shares his values and vision for growth.
FPH, a private investment firm, said it was excited to start its partnership with Hunter Truck and praised its strong culture and industry leading team. FPH also said it plans to grow the business organically and through acquisitions over the long term.
Raymond James and Evans Petree advised Hunter Truck, while Goodwin Procter advised FPH on the transaction.
