Bureau Veritas announces new Executive Committee to boost growth and sustainability

PARIS, FRANCE: Bureau Veritas, a world leader in testing, inspection and certification (TIC) services, has announced the reshaping and strengthening of its Executive Committee, effective from January 1st, 2024.

The new structure is designed to align the organization with its strategic imperatives and to seize key future growth opportunities.

The Group has decided to split its current geographical cluster of Asia Pacific and the Middle East into two new regions for the Commodities, Industries & Facilities (CIF) division, in order to leverage the full potential of growing market opportunities specific to each region and to facilitate scaling of solutions and improved resources utilization.

The two new regions are Middle East, Caspian & Africa and Asia Pacific (including China and India).

The Group has also created a new role of Executive Vice-President, Corporate Development & Sustainability, to embed sustainability at the very heart of its activities and to accelerate the development and execution of its strategy.

The new role will ensure consistency in the Group’s efforts and increase strategic focus.

Additionally, the Group has appointed a Chief Digital Officer (CDO) to drive innovation through broad digital enablement and to develop new solutions and provide differentiated customer experience for the Group’s clients.

The CDO will also capture increased efficiency and productivity in its internal operations and support the Group’s digital transformation.

The Group has announced the following appointments for the new roles:

  • Juliano Cardoso, who has been with the Group for 28 years and has held various managerial positions, both geographically and functionally, is appointed Executive Vice-President, Corporate Development & Sustainability. He will capitalize on his in-depth knowledge of the Group and take its mission of being “sustainable at core” to the next level.
  • Surachet Tanwongsval, who has been leading the Group’s activities in Thailand since 2018, is appointed Executive Vice-President Commodities, Industries & Facilities, Asia Pacific. He will oversee the growth of one of the Group’s largest regions and key for its continued success. He will also foster innovation and drive operational integrity and performance.
  • Philipp Karmires, who has joined the Group in 2020 as Vice-President Digital Transformation, is appointed Executive Vice-President and Group Chief Digital Officer. He will scale the Group’s digital capabilities and develop a digital-first culture. He will also accompany the Group’s clients as they navigate their business imperatives and enhance the Group’s performance and efficiency.
