Woodings Industrial acquires Superior Machine Company, expands melt shop capabilities

PITTSBURGH: Woodings Industrial Corporation and affiliated companies have announced the acquisition of Superior Machine Company of South Carolina, Inc., a leading provider of electric arc furnace and continuous casting equipment and services.

The acquisition will strengthen Woodings Industrial’s position in the North American market for melt shop engineering, design, maintenance, and repair.

Superior Machine, founded over 50 years ago, has production facilities in Florence, South Carolina, and an engineering and sales office in Cleveland, Ohio.

The company serves customers throughout North America with a range of products and services, including furnace shells, roof systems, water-cooled equipment, ladles, transfer cars, electrode arms, ductwork, and cooling equipment. Superior Machine also offers turnkey project management and field services for demolition, upgrades, modifications, and emergency repairs.

Superior Machine will continue to operate independently under the Woodings Industrial group, maintaining its brand identity, leadership team, and customer focus.

The partnership will create opportunities for complementary design, engineering, and manufacturing proficiencies, as well as access to unparalleled resources and expertise.

The acquisition was financed by Ironwood Capital and advised by Raptor Partners and Dentons Cohen & Grigsby.
