Novvia Group acquires Ocean State Packaging

Novvia Group, a company backed by Kelso & Company, has bought Ocean State Packaging, Inc., a Rhode Island based provider of plastic bottles and other rigid packaging products. The financial details of the private deal were not revealed.

Ocean State, established in 1990, is a reliable provider of stock and custom packaging solutions to a nationwide network of loyal customers across various sectors. Ocean State has a broad range of bottle shapes, sizes, and materials, as well as caps and closures for different purposes.

With offices in Rhode Island and New Jersey, Ocean State offers advisory sales support and a set of value-added services, such as design and decoration features. The purchase signifies Novvia’s entrance into the New England market and forms a key part of the company’s Northeast plan.

“We are excited to partner with Novvia to continue growing our business,” said Brian Beneduce, President of Ocean State. “We intend to draw on a long history of customer service and our ‘one-stop-shop’ philosophy to deliver additional value to our loyal customers as part of the national Novvia platform.”

“Ocean State Packaging has built an impressive business over its 33-year history, and we welcome the company to the Novvia family,” said Ken Roessler, Executive Chairman of Novvia. “We look forward to investing in Ocean State’s markets as we grow our footprint of Northeast based employees, customers, and suppliers,” added Roessler.
