LONDON, UK: Smith+Nephew, the global medical technology business listed on the LSE and NYSE, has announced that John Rogers will take over as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) from Anne-Françoise Nesmes.
Rogers will join the company as CFO-designate on December 1, 2023, and will officially join the Board as CFO in early 2024.
Anne-Françoise Nesmes, who declared her intention to resign on August 3, 2023, will remain to oversee the completion of the 2023 Annual Report and ensure a smooth transition.
John Rogers brings a wealth of experience from his tenure as CFO of two FTSE-100 companies and his recent role at WPP plc, where he led a significant transformation program. His previous positions include CFO at J Sainsbury plc and CEO of Argos, Habitat, and Sainsbury’s non-food divisions.
Rupert Soames, Chair of the Board, praised Rogers’ global experience and transformation expertise, noting their importance for Smith+Nephew’s shareholder value focus. CEO Deepak Nath expressed his eagerness to work with Rogers on the company’s turnaround and strategic growth plan.
Rogers expressed excitement about joining Smith+Nephew to implement the 12-Point Plan and contribute to its growth strategy. The announcement also included a trading update for Q3 ending September 30, 2023.
