PARIS, FRANCE: Schneider Electric, a global leader in energy management and automation, has successfully concluded its acquisition of EcoAct SAS, a prominent international climate consulting and net zero solutions provider headquartered in Paris.
The acquisition marks the culmination of discussions that began on July 3, 2023, when Schneider Electric entered into exclusive negotiations with Atos Group.
After obtaining the necessary approvals from regulatory authorities and consulting with relevant employee representative bodies, the deal is now official.
This strategic acquisition brings together two industry leaders with a shared goal of accelerating climate-focused business solutions while delivering tangible benefits to their clients. EcoAct’s extensive portfolio, which includes net zero and nature-based offerings like consulting, climate data tools, and carbon offset project development, will significantly expand Schneider Electric’s already well-established Sustainability Business.
The latter is known for providing advisory services across energy management, energy efficiency, renewable energy, environmental commodity procurement, sustainability consulting, climate risk management, sustainability communications, and reporting & disclosure.
The combination of these two organizations enhances Schneider Electric’s capacity to provide comprehensive solutions, guiding companies through the complex process of achieving net zero emissions and sustainable environmental practices.
Their advisory services encompass sustainability strategy development, target setting, and decarbonization across various scopes, further bolstered by an AI-powered suite of digital and data management tools.
Steve Wilhite, President of Sustainability Business at Schneider Electric, expressed his enthusiasm about the merger, stating, “We have long admired the team at EcoAct, and bringing our two organizations together will help us to accelerate the ability to serve our clients all over the world. Companies understand the urgency to act but continue to face complexities when it comes to decarbonization. I’m confident that our combined best-in-class teams will help our clients to accelerate even faster towards their net zero ambitions.”
EcoAct’s CEO, Stuart Lemmon, emphasized the significance of the partnership for urgent climate action, saying, “Urgent climate action is at the heart of our mission, and I know we’ve found the right partner in Schneider Electric. The company’s own demonstrated commitments to net zero – in its own operations and for its clients – speaks loudly in the market, and our EcoActors are excited to join together with another leading advisory team, putting climate and nature center stage to accelerate sustainable corporate transformation.”
