Oppo Find N3: A foldable phone that could be the OnePlus Open’s twin

Oppo Find N3

If you’re looking for a new foldable phone, you might want to keep an eye on the OnePlus Open, which is being announced today (October 19). Why? Because it’s likely to be very similar to the Oppo Find N3, which was unveiled yesterday and has some impressive specs and features.

Oppo and OnePlus are sister companies that often share technology and design. They even confirmed to The Verge that their upcoming foldable phones would be largely the same, just with different branding.

So what does the Oppo Find N3 offer? Well, it has a huge 7.82-inch foldable display with a high resolution of 2268 x 2440 and a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. It also has a very bright screen that can reach up to 2,800 nits, which is more than most other phones on the market.

The cover screen is also impressive, with a 6.31-inch AMOLED display that has a resolution of 1116 x 2484 and the same refresh rate and brightness as the foldable screen.

The Oppo Find N3 is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, which is one of the most powerful processors available for Android phones. It also has a whopping 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, which should make it very fast and spacious.

The camera department is also impressive, with a triple-lens rear camera that consists of a 48MP main sensor, a 48MP ultra-wide sensor, and a 64MP telephoto sensor that can zoom up to 6x. The phone also has two selfie cameras, one on the cover screen and one on the foldable screen, both with high resolutions of 32MP and 20MP respectively.

The battery life is decent, with a 4,805mAh capacity that supports fast charging up to 67W. The company claims that you can fully charge the phone in just 42 minutes.

The design of the Oppo Find N3 is also attractive, with four color options: black or red with a vegan leather back, or green or gold with a matte glass back.

The only downside is that the Oppo Find N3 is not likely to be available in most of the western world, but the OnePlus Open probably will be. So if you like the sound of these specs, you’ll probably be able to get most of them from the OnePlus Open.

We’ll find out for sure soon, as the OnePlus Open is being unveiled today (October 19) at 7am PT / 10am ET / 3pm BST, which is 1am AEDT on October 20 for those in Australia.
