HARMAN, a subsidiary of Samsung Electronics, has launched HealthGPT, a private language model (LLM) that uses generative AI to provide healthcare solutions. HealthGPT can help healthcare professionals, researchers, and institutions with advanced patient care, medical research, and decision-making.
HealthGPT is based on a variety of healthcare data sets and has been tested for accuracy and quality by HARMAN’s own automated LLM testing framework and healthcare experts. HealthGPT is a private LLM, which means that enterprises have more control over their data, privacy, compliance, security, and cost.
HealthGPT can offer several benefits, such as:
- Providing real-time, context-aware clinical insights
- Fine-tuning LLMs to achieve optimal performance
- Creating high quality customized data sets
- Validating LLMs for factual correctness and toxicity
- Reducing model size and processing costs by up to one-tenth
- Accelerating drug discovery and development
Nick Parrotta, President of HARMAN’s Digital Transformation Solutions business unit, said that generative AI has a huge business value and that HARMAN’s mission is to help clients scale and implement it swiftly. He said that HARMAN HealthGPT is an example of their capabilities that will help organizations use specific industry trained models to solve unique problems and add value for customers. He also said that HARMAN is well positioned to fine-tune more private LLMs for other industries.
