Melbourne, Australia: Marley Spoon, a global leader in subscription-based meal kits, has announced the appointment of Daniel Raab as its new Chief Operating Officer (COO) and the extension of Fabian Siegel’s contract as Chairman of the Management Board and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) until 2028.
Raab has extensive experience in e-commerce, retail and distribution, having worked at Amazon for seven years and led two private equity backed e-commerce companies to success. He will succeed Rolf Weber, who will remain as Director and CEO of Marley Spoon Australia.
Siegel founded Marley Spoon in 2014 and has been its CEO since then. He has led the company to become a respected, market leading provider of technology enabled meal kit solutions. He will continue to execute Marley Spoon’s accelerated growth strategy as the online shopping trend continues.
Christian Gisy, Marley Spoon Chairman, said that Raab was the best candidate for the COO role and expressed his gratitude for Weber’s dedication. He also praised Siegel’s outstanding contributions and vision for Marley Spoon.
The appointments are effective from 1 September 2023. Marley Spoon Group SE, a 84% shareholder in Marley Spoon, also appointed Raab as its COO and entered into a service framework agreement with Siegel.
