Rubix Resources appoints Dr Casey Blundell as new CEO to lead lithium exploration

SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA: Rubix Resources Limited (ASX: RB6), a minerals exploration company focused on critical minerals, has announced the appointment of Dr Casey Blundell as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately.

Dr Blundell, who joined the Company in June 2022 as Senior Geologist and Exploration Manager, will lead Rubix through its next chapter of exploration and development at its projects in Australia and Canada.

Dr Blundell has a PhD in Structural Geology and Structural Geophysics, and has almost a decade of technical training and employment in complexly deformed geologic terranes. She is a Member of the Australian Institute of Geoscientists (MAIG), and has received the prestigious AusIMM Education Endowment Fund (EEF) Scholarship. She is also an active member of several professional associations, including the AusIMM, ASEG and SEG.

Dr Blundell has a special interest in critical minerals systems, such as lithium, which are essential for the transition to a low-carbon economy. She is a proponent of applying an integrative, scientific approach to minerals exploration, and utilising both emerging scientific research and the experience of leading industry experts to add value to projects.

Dr Blundell’s appointment comes as Rubix is poised for growth following the recent acquisition of its Ceiling Lithium Project in James Bay, Quebec. The project is located in a highly prospective region for lithium pegmatites, which are the primary source of lithium for battery production. Rubix also holds several other projects in Australia, including the Boreas Gold Project in Western Australia and the Mount Morgan Copper-Gold Project in Queensland.

Rubix Resources Executive Chairman Eddie King said: “We’re extremely pleased to announce Casey as CEO of Rubix, especially given the extensive understanding of the Company and its projects she has already developed. Her technical expertise is well suited to our stage of development as we further exploration at Ceiling Lithium and our Australian projects.”
