Kecia Steelman Becomes President and COO of Ulta Beauty

Ulta Beauty, the largest beauty retailer in the United States, has announced the promotion of Kecia Steelman to President and Chief Operating Officer, effective immediately. Ms. Steelman, who has been with the company since 2014, will oversee all aspects of the company’s operations, strategy, and growth initiatives.

Ms. Steelman has been instrumental in leading Ulta Beauty’s store and services operations, which include more than 1,200 stores across 50 states and a partnership with Target to open mini-shops within select locations. She has also been responsible for driving operational excellence, enhancing guest experiences, and fostering a culture of inclusion and diversity within the company.

Dave Kimbell, the Chief Executive Officer of Ulta Beauty, praised Ms. Steelman’s leadership and achievements in a statement. “Kecia is a talented executive with a proven track record of driving operational excellence while fostering a caring and inclusive culture and creating exceptional guest experiences,” he said. “Over the last year, Kecia has increased her scope and influence within our organization, and this expanded role recognizes her value to the company and her many contributions to our success, while also demonstrating our ongoing confidence in her leadership to help us drive profitable growth for the Company over the coming years.”

Ms. Steelman has more than 30 years of experience in retail operations and merchandising. Before joining Ulta Beauty as Senior Vice President of Store Operations in 2014, she held various leadership positions at Family Dollar Stores, Home Depot Corporation, and Target Corporation.
