Apple has launched its latest flagship smartphone, the iPhone 15, at its ‘Wonderlust’ event in Cupertino. The new device features a stunning new design, a powerful camera system, and a USB-C charging port.
The iPhone 15 sports a 6.1-inch OLED display with a peak brightness of up to 2,000 nits, making it twice as bright as the previous generation. The display also has a Dynamic Island, which replaces the notch and houses the infrared True Depth camera for face unlock and selfie portraits.
The rear camera of the iPhone 15 has been upgraded to a 48MP main sensor, which can capture more details and colors than ever before. The camera also supports night mode, HDR, and cinematic video recording. The selfie camera remains at 12MP, but uses the True Depth camera to create more realistic and natural portraits.
The iPhone 15 also comes with a USB-C port, which is compatible with most chargers and accessories. This marks a departure from Apple’s proprietary Lightning cable, which has been used for iPhones since 2012. The USB-C port also enables faster charging and data transfer speeds.
The iPhone 15 will be available in four colors: silver, graphite, gold, and blue. It will start at $799 for the 64GB model, and go up to $1,099 for the 512GB model. Pre-orders will begin on September 17, and shipping will start on September 24.
