WBM Technologies LP (WBM), a Western Canadian leader in IT solutions, announced today that it has acquired Carlyle Printers Service and Supplies (Carlyle), a leading Manitoba print technology provider.
The acquisition will create Manitoba’s largest and most sophisticated managed print support organization, with a team of 95 professionals and a new 15,000 square foot facility in Winnipeg.
“This is a significant move in the managed print industry in Canada,” said WBM Vice President Brett Bailey. “We are excited to bring great people and customers together around a shared vision and values, and to add amazing new organizations to our client community.”
Eric Johannson, who led Carlyle, will join the WBM leadership team. Derek Johannson, co-founder of Carlyle, will continue to work with the Carlyle team and customers.
“This is a fantastic story of two western Canadian success stories who have chosen to stay local, independent, and focused on our communities, our people, and our customers,” said Derek Johannson.
The acquisition is effective September 1, 2023. Carlyle will operate under the Carlyle banner, with the “Powered by WBM” badge. There will be no changes to Carlyle customer services.
Customers of Carlyle will benefit from WBM’s automation, analytics, and fleet reporting insights, as well as its full suite of outcome-based technology solutions. WBM customers in Manitoba will also enjoy expanded print support coverage and expertise.
