Guild Esports and Sky Broadband collaborate to launch ‘Sweat Room’ Street Fighter tournament

LONDON, UK: Guild Esports PLC, known for its global gaming focus, has ventured into the realm of competitive Street Fighter 6 by introducing a new professional team.

The team, proudly representing Guild, includes Reneil “JoKeR JoKeZ” Landell from the UK, Rabiae “Takamura” Houmaid from Belgium, and Alfonso “VegaPatch” Martínez Pozo from Spain. This strategic move is expected to open up fresh avenues for revenue and audience expansion.

Street Fighter, the enduring fighting game series, has cultivated a thriving esports community. Notably, the CR Cup Street Fighter tournament in June 2023 amassed over 313,000 concurrent viewers on Twitch, solidifying its position as a major gaming attraction.

In a collaborative endeavor with Sky Broadband as part of their larger partnership, Guild is set to launch the ‘Sweat Room’ tournament. This live-streamed event will be promoted through dedicated social media efforts. Participants will engage in intense one-on-one Street Fighter matches within a high-pressure environment. The tournament aims to add a new player to Guild’s Street Fighter team roster, showcasing Guild and Sky Broadband’s shared commitment to nurturing the gaming community.

Influencers such as Iain Chambers, Veracity, Damascus, Tyrant, and F-Word are actively promoting the event. Guild’s prominent logo and branding will be featured throughout the tournament and the associated online campaign.

The victorious player will receive an esports bundle tailored for professional Street Fighter players, courtesy of Guild’s Official Gaming Chair Partner, Secretlab. This package includes a top-tier gaming chair, a gaming monitor, a peripheral set, 18 months of free Sky Fibre Broadband, a gaming PC, a custom PC case, and a Sweat Room branded joystick.
