LONDON: Business Post Group (BPG) has successfully acquired UK-based Relish Research in a deal valued at nearly €3 million.
This strategic move comes shortly after BPG secured a capital investment of €6 million from Bonnier News Business AB on July 7. BPG is also the owner of Red C research, headquartered in Ireland.
Enda O’Coineen, the Publisher and CEO of Business Post Group, expressed enthusiasm about the acquisition of Relish Research, seeing it as a reinforcement of the company’s core focus on Data and Insights. O’Coineen highlighted that this expansion is a pivotal step in BPG’s journey to becoming a versatile consortium of businesses specializing in media, events, data, and technology services.
The acquisition aligns with BPG’s broader strategy of growth. O’Coineen remarked, “We believe joining the group will allow the exceptional Relish team to continue to maximise their potential, and provide opportunities for cross company collaboration and growth.”
Relish Research, located in Hammersmith, London, is led by founder Monique Drummond and managing director Simon Thompson. They will report to Richard Colwell, the CEO of Red C. Founded in 2011, Relish Research focuses on clients in retail, utilities, gaming, and entertainment, specializing in assisting companies with recurring revenue or subscription-based business models in customer acquisition and retention.
Richard Colwell recognized the potential of the acquisition, stating, “Relish Research brings a fresh focus to the group with key strengths in the recurring revenue/subscription model, and a rich client base that perfectly complements our existing Red C business in the UK.” This step is in line with Red C’s ambition to establish itself as a leading research organization on a global scale.
Monique Drummond emphasized that Relish Research will maintain its operational independence while benefiting from synergies created through close collaboration with Red C. She pointed out, “Not only will we be strengthening the range of services we currently offer our clients, but we’ll be collaborating on the development of new insight products to further strengthen our combined position in the market.”
Colm O’Reilly, the Chief Operations Officer, emphasized the significance of the UK market in BPG’s growth agenda. The acquisition of Relish Research will enhance Red C’s presence in the UK market and expand its offerings to both existing and new clients.
As Business Post Group continues to strategically expand its portfolio and capabilities, the acquisition of Relish Research stands as a significant move that reflects the group’s commitment to innovation and customer-centric solutions.
