Eastern Metals appoints Ms Ley Kingdom as its new Chief Executive Officer

SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA: Eastern Metals Limited (Eastern Metals or Company), a leading Australian base metals exploration and development company, is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms Ley Kingdom as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately.

Ms Kingdom is a qualified geologist with over 25 years of experience in the mining industry, having worked for major companies such as Western Mining Corporation and BHP, as well as several junior and mid-tier companies on various projects across Australia and overseas. She has a comprehensive understanding of resource projects and their development, and brings an important range of skills to the Company.

Ms Kingdom was the founder and Managing Director of Highland Resources Ltd, a private exploration company that vended its gold assets in north Queensland into a development company in 2022. She also held a corporate role with Round Oak Minerals Pty Ltd, a subsidiary of Washington H Soul Pattinson & Company Limited, which was acquired by Aeris Resources Limited in 2022. Round Oak was a precious and base metals mining and exploration company with operations across four states.

Ms Kingdom has also worked with the Victorian Government on various projects related to the state’s mineral resources, including a review of the brown coal programs and initiatives over 15 years. She also has experience in working with the Central Land Council and the Native Title Act 1993 in the Northern Territory.

She has the right combination of technical background and corporate experience that we have been seeking during the last several months. In addition, she’s a self-starter with an entrepreneurial flair, and has an engaging personality. Ms Kingdom said: “I am delighted to be taking on this role at Eastern Metals. The Company has some great projects in Tier-1 base metal provinces, as well as some exciting ground in the emerging Thomson Orogen region in northwest New South Wales. Eastern Metals is focused on exploring and developing its portfolio of base metal projects in New South Wales, including the Home of Bullion copper project, the Browns Reef polymetallic project, and the Currawalla rare earths project. The Company recently announced an increase in its resource estimate at Home of Bullion, as well as positive results from its drilling program at Currawalla. The Company is also planning to commence drilling at Browns Reef in the near future.
