Streamplay launches mGames in partnership with bmobile in Papua New Guinea

Posted on July 10, 2023July 10, 2023

SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA: Streamplay Studio Limited (ASX:SP8), a casual gaming company, has announced the launch of mGames, a branded version of its ArcadeX white-label technology, in Papua New Guinea in partnership with bmobile, a leading telco in the region.

mGames is a subscription-based service that offers over 200 quality games across various genres, including popular characters from well-known franchises and entertainment properties. Subscribers can engage in thrilling battles, compete for top spots on leaderboards, and win exciting prizes.

The launch of mGames is expected to generate a strong revenue stream for both Streamplay and bmobile, as they will share the revenue from the subscriptions on a 50/50 basis. The launch also marks Streamplay’s entry into the Pacific market, where it plans to roll out mGames to other countries such as American Samoa, Tonga, Solomon Islands and Fiji.

The Pacific market has strong growth potential for casual gaming, as it is predicted to have 7.3 million unique mobile subscribers by 2030 and 90% smartphone penetration, according to GSMA Intelligence.

mGames integrates directly into Streamplay’s proprietary telco billing engine, GBilling, which maximises billing success and customer engagement. GBilling has been successfully deployed in South Africa, where Streamplay’s MTN Arena service has attracted over 1.6 million subscribers.

Streamplay’s CEO, Greg Tremain, said: “We are thrilled to launch mGames in Papua New Guinea with our partner bmobile. This is a strategic move that will allow us to tap into the growing demand for casual gaming in the Pacific market and deliver cutting-edge gaming experiences to millions of customers. We look forward to expanding our footprint in the region and growing our revenues with our innovative technology and content.”
