Milan, Italy: Volvo has officially unveiled its highly anticipated Volvo EX30, marking the company’s entry into the small premium electric SUV market. The all-electric vehicle is now available for pre-order, offering impressive performance and range.
The base model, known as the Single Motor Extended Range, is equipped with a rear-mounted motor that delivers 268 horsepower and 253 lb-ft of torque. It is powered by a 69 kWh NMC battery, providing a range of 275 miles on a full charge. Accelerating from 0 to 60 mph in just 5.1 seconds, the EX30 combines efficiency with impressive performance. Charging from 10% to 80% takes approximately 26.5 minutes, making it convenient for on-the-go charging needs.
For those seeking even more power, the Twin Motor Performance variant is available. With two electric motors, it boasts a combined output of 422 horsepower and 401 lb-ft of torque. The Twin Motor EX30 accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in a remarkable 3.4 seconds. Despite the increased performance, the range remains competitive, offering up to 265 miles on a full charge using the same 69 kWh battery as the base model. Its charging capacity of up to 153 kW enables rapid charging from 10% to 80% in just over 25 minutes.
Both the Single Motor Extended Range and Twin Motor Performance variants of the Volvo EX30 come equipped with the innovative Park Pilot Assist feature. This advanced system can automatically park the vehicle in various types of parking spots, including parallel, curved, perpendicular, and diagonal fishbone-style parking.
Customers in the United States can now pre-order the Volvo EX30, with prices starting from $34,950 USD. The affordable pricing, combined with Volvo’s reputation for safety and quality, is expected to attract a significant number of customers seeking a premium electric SUV.
