SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA: Green Critical Minerals GCM), a leading graphite exploration and development company, has successfully executed a term sheet for the option to acquire 100% ownership of the Sally Downs tenement package.
The acquisition will encompass the north and adjacent areas to the renowned McIntosh Graphite Project, strategically aligning with GCM’s development strategy.
By acquiring Sally Downs, GCM will establish a dominant presence in the highly prospective Tickalara metamorphic belt located in the East Kimberley region. This belt is known for hosting the ultrahigh purity McIntosh graphite flake.
The acquisition will expand GCM’s landholding in the Tickalara metamorphic belt by 28%, reinforcing its commitment to becoming Australia’s leading graphite developer.
Geological interpretation indicates an impressive potential aggregate strike length of over 30 km of unexplored graphite horizons within the Sally Downs Project area. Furthermore, a previous petrographic study conducted on surface graphite schist samples has confirmed the presence of valuable coarse (>300 μm) flake graphite within the target stratigraphy.
The majority of the Sally Downs tenements lie within the amphibolite metamorphic zone of the Tickalara Metamorphics, which bodes well for the development of high purity coarse flake graphite units.
The consolidation of GCM’s existing tenement package with the addition of Sally Downs will result in one of the largest land packages in Australia for prospective graphite mineralization. This significant expansion solidifies GCM’s position as a key player in the graphite industry and underscores its dedication to unlocking the full potential of the Tickalara metamorphic belt.
